Hang On

That’s all anyone can do during a time of madness and chaos. Hang on. Hope that you can ride it all out and somehow come out of it still intact. When the timeline you live in has taken a massive blow to all that is sane, there’s no Rick and Morty with a dimensional plasma gun to open a portal up and save you. The only thing you can do is hang on, resist and remember that THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

While the world is spiraling into discord, I’ve chosen to work on the things I love and surround myself with good company. It can be overwhelming when looking at the news or social media, so I’ve been taking mini breaks from that too. I’m taking the time to enjoy the little things, the simple things. I remind myself that the world is just a speck in the cosmos. That all of this is just another marker in time.

At the same time, I remember that history has shown that although humans are delicate and breakable, we’re also resilient.

So while I hang on, I will focus on the things that make us human, the narratives that we tell ourselves, the things that touch us, that get under our skin, and that create us. Story is what we use to understand the world, each other and our selves. I have no choice or control over global events, over the entropy that has begun, but I can choose to love, to be there for others, and to create.

Because in the end, that’s all I can do.
